Start by identifying the operator zone, component handling zone and material storage zone. The work surface, floor and operator grounding method should work as one system.

A typical setup includes a dissipative bench mat, common point ground, wrist strap, ESD footwear or heel strap, conductive bins and suitable shelving.
Make verification routine
Use clear grounding labels, keep cables organized and record daily checks. Replace worn mats, straps and footwear before they create an uncontrolled risk.
