Sticky Mats vs Sticky Rollers
A clear comparison of entry-point mats and surface-cleaning rollers for contamination control.
Use sticky mats at controlled-area entrances
Layered sticky mats collect dust from shoes and trolley wheels before they enter cleaner areas. They are commonly placed at changing rooms, air showers, transfer points and production entrances.
Use sticky rollers on surfaces and equipment
PE, silicone and DCR rollers remove particles from benches, films, panels, conveyor surfaces and other process materials. Roller width, hardness and adhesive strength should match the surface.
Select by application, not appearance
- Choose mat size according to doorway width and traffic direction.
- Choose roller material according to the surface and particle size.
- Confirm layer count, adhesive strength and replacement frequency.
Combine both for better control
Many facilities use mats for personnel and trolley entry, then use hand or machine rollers at the process point. This creates a layered contamination-control plan.
